You Need a Squad
We all do. At Motherlift, we don’t hold back about what happens to our minds and bodies during pregnancy (and the years surrounding it). We aim to prepare you when expecting becomes unexpected.
We practice reflective empathy as we share our stories and advice. Motherlift is an inclusive space providing constructive support so that you feel more at home in your body.
Hear the Stories
This is where we make space for audible stories that emphasize the unexpected aspects of pre-conception, pregnancy, birth, and postpartum. If we can inspire just one moment where you feel less alone, our purpose has been served. By providing many different stories, from many different individuals, we gain understanding and empathy for everyone.
Read the Stories
We try to get as many stories as possible on our podcast, but sometimes that isn’t feasible. When that’s the case, we go readable! In the blog we capture highlighted portions from our podcasts as well as written interviews. Have a story where things didn’t go according to plan? Shoot us a message! We’d love to hear from you.

The definition of doula is a person trained to provide advice, information, emotional support, and physical comfort to a birthing individual before, during, and just after childbirth. Why is that beneficial? Research shows that childbirth goes more smoothly with a doula: On average labor is 41 minutes shorter, the need for pain medication is lessened by 10% and there’s an increase of 8% in spontaneous vaginal births! As a doula, it is my hope to facilitate an environment where you feel informed and trusting of your body in the process of giving birth. (However that looks like for you!)
